In 1932, hundreds of ramblers staged the Mass Trespass of Kinder Scout — a defining moment in the long fight for the right to roam across open moorland that eventually led to the creation of the National Parks and, ultimately, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act. Every walker who sets foot on Kinder Scout today walks in the footsteps of those pioneering ramblers.
